Occasional money problems are like the common cold. No one is immune from debt and most of us get in a pinch, one way or another, sooner or later. If a few particularly aggressive creditors threaten your economic survival, it's time to get help, like when a cough turns to pneumonia. Medical debts can cause tremendous stress and anxiety. Combined with mounting credit card debts, car and house payments and student loans, the problems can easily snowball out of control. A slow economy, lay-offs, cutbacks all seem to hit at the worst times. And money problems and marital problems go hand in hand. Especially now that health insurance is no longer an option but a requirement under Federal law.

When late payments on credit cards turn into a law suit against you, the credit card company can start garnishing money out of your paycheck or your bank account. Interest and collection costs can make debts mushroom into amounts that are impossible to pay and meet living expenses at the same time. Before you know it, you're struggling to pay the basics, like housing, food and transportation.

If you tried to modify your mortgage but couldn't, your mortgage company might be demanding an amount you simply have no chance of paying, and then they schedule a foreclosure (trustee sale). And if you fail to make payments on a car loan, you might wake up one morning and find the vehicle has been repossessed and is headed for the auction block.

When debt problems get out of control, Bankrupcty allows you to adjust and eliminate certain debts under Federal Law known as The Bankruptcy Code. Bankruptcy Court protection stops creditors from taking action against your property, like wage garnishments, repossession and foreclosure, and the protection goes into effect the minute we file your case with the Court.

In emergencies, your bankruptcy attorney can file your case electronically 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. How long it takes to file the case is just a matter of how soon you complete the credit briefing (which takes as little as 45 minutes), make fee arrangements, and provide your lawyer the information needed to prepare your documents. Since we know money is the problem, we make sure initial attorneys fees and expenses are affordable.

When we file your Petition for Relief (a three page document) with the Clerk of the Court, it becomes illegal for any creditor to call you, write you, sue you or take any action against you to collect a debt, except child support, alimony and criminal restitution. It's also illegal for creditors to attach wages and interfere with property of your bankruptcy estate, so repossession, garnishment and foreclosure all stop as of the date and time of filing. Once you hire us, you can tell creditors to call your bankruptcy lawyer, and it's illegal for collection agencies to continue caling you at that point.

Before you retain any bankruptcy attorney, be sure they have experience dealing with the Bankruptcy Court Clerk, and the Bankruptcy Trustee. Twenty years and thousands of successful cases give us the confidence to get between you and your creditors like few other Arizona Bankruptcy law firms can.

We want to be your lawyers, for the trouble at hand, and for the road ahead.
