Automatic stay in Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 stops creditors cold.

The Automatic Stay Order goes into effect as of the date and time of filing, and it prohibits all collection action, including foreclosure and repossession, until the case is dismissed, discharged, or until the automatic stay is lifted. If the stay is lifted, repossession and foreclosure could take place WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE to you. If you bring contract payments completely current, and maintain required insurance, creditors generally have no basis and no motive to repossess or foreclose.
